You buy a plan on the web dashboard at app.welcomebird.com, not in the app. Log in there with your WelcomeBird email and password, or a phone code. See The dashboard.
You can buy Pro or Business while you are on your trial or on Free.
For now, paid plans are not on sale. The dashboard says Upgrading to a paid plan opens soon. in place of Choose and See plans. Your trial and Free work as usual.

1. Add your billing details
Open Billing and scroll to Billing details.
- Name on receipts: the name printed on your receipts.
- Billing email: your receipts go here. If you leave it empty, it is filled in from your log-in email. Tap Save to use it.
- Address: printed on your receipts, in parts:
- Address line 1, and Address line 2 if you need it.
- Postcode and City. In Malaysia the postcode has 5 digits, for example 59100.
- State: in Malaysia, choose one of the 13 states or 3 federal territories. In other countries you can type it or leave it empty.
- Country: Malaysia to start with. Choose another from the list if you need to.
Tap Save. You see Billing details saved.
You need a billing email before you can pay. Without one, the dashboard says Add a billing email first.
2. Choose a plan
In Plans, tap Choose under Pro or Business. A window opens:
- How often: Monthly or Yearly. Yearly costs the same as 10 months, so you get two months free.
- Pay with: Card (a debit or credit card) or FPX online banking (from your bank account).
- You pay: the amount, and the dates it covers.
The price you see is the price you pay.
Tap Continue. One question asks you to confirm, for example Pay RM49.00 for Pro, monthly? Tap Go to payment.
3. Pay on the secure payment page
The payment page is Stripe’s. WelcomeBird never sees your full card number or your bank login.
- Card: enter your card. Your bank may ask you to confirm in its app or by a code.
- FPX online banking: pick your bank, sign in to it and approve the payment.
4. Back on Billing
When you finish, you come back to Billing. The top shows the payment:
- Waiting for the payment: the page updates by itself.
- Payment processing: your bank is confirming. The page updates when it does.
- Payment received: you are on your new plan. The page shows the Date and time, the Amount, how you paid and the Receipt number.
For FPX, and if it is still waiting
For FPX, Payment received also shows the Seller order no., the FPX transaction ID, the Bank and the Status. Keep these if you ever need to ask your bank about the payment.
If the page says it is still waiting, your bank has not answered yet. It updates when it does. You can tap Check again. You are never charged twice.
Your receipt arrives by email with a PDF. See Receipts.
Message credit packs are bought the same way, from the Message credits card on Billing. See Top-up credits.
When your plan starts
Your plan starts when the payment goes through. If you were on your trial, the trial’s remaining days end then.
Current plan then shows your plan, Active, and Paid until with the date. For a card, Payment method shows the card, for example Visa ending 4242, expires 12/2030.
Plans don’t renew on their own yet. Changing to another paid plan is not open yet either. On a paid plan, Plans says Your plan can’t be changed here yet.
If the payment doesn’t go through
You weren’t charged, and your plan does not change. Tap Try again.
What each message means
- Payment not completed. You weren’t charged.: you left the payment page without paying. Tap Try again to choose again.
- The payment didn’t go through. You weren’t charged.: the payment failed, or the payment page closed before you paid. A payment page stays open for an hour. Tap Try again, or choose the other way to pay.
- A payment page is still being prepared. Wait a minute, then try again.: the first payment page is still being made. Wait a minute, then tap Try again.
In each case your plan does not change.
If your card is declined, Stripe’s page says so and you can try another card there.
Payments we refund
Sometimes money arrives that we can’t use for your plan. We refund it in full. You don’t need to ask.
When we refund a payment
- Payment received after the checkout ended: you paid on a payment page that had already closed.
- If your plan is already active, because another payment paid for it, the dashboard says We’ll refund it. You don’t need to pay again.
- If not, this payment did not start your plan. The dashboard says We’ll refund it. Your plan hasn’t changed: choose a plan again when you’re ready.
- Payment received but it didn’t match: the payment was not what the page asked for. We refund it. Your plan hasn’t changed, so choose a plan again when you’re ready.
- We took a second payment by mistake. We’ll refund it.: you paid twice for the same plan. Your plan is paid once and the extra payment is refunded.
- A payment for a business that was deleted before the payment arrived is refunded too. Its receipt is emailed to the owner’s log-in email, with a line saying the payment will be refunded because the business was deleted.
In Invoices and receipts on Billing, an invoice with a payment we refund shows Refund due beside its status.
In the app
On Android and iPhone, More → Plan & usage shows your plan, its tag and this month’s usage only. Sign in to the dashboard in your browser to change your plan.
