Top-up credits

Top-up credits

Who can do this: Owner

Top-up credits are message credits you buy on top of the ones your plan includes each month. Every plan can buy them, Free included.

What a credit is

One message credit sends one WhatsApp or SMS to a customer. Emails are free and never use a credit. See Message credits for what uses a credit and what doesn’t.

Packs and prices

You buy credits in packs. Top-ups start from RM15 for 100 credits. See Billing on the dashboard for each pack and today’s price: each pack shows its price beside Buy.

A pack marked Not on sale can’t be bought right now.

If the card says Top-ups open soon., Buy can’t be tapped yet. Your credits and the packs still show.

Plan credits first

Each message first uses your plan’s credits for the month. Only when they are all used does a message use a top-up credit.

The dashboard’s Message credits card shows both:

  • Plan credits left this month, for example Plan credits left this month: 12 of 50.
  • Top-up credits, for example Top-up credits: 340.

If the card says We couldn’t read your credits just now., your credits are safe. Reload the page in a minute. You can still buy a pack.

Never expire

Top-up credits never expire. Credits you don’t use this month stay for next month, and the month after.

If the owner deletes their account, unused message credits are lost when the business is deleted after 30 days, with no refund. If the owner restores it before then, they stay. See Delete your account.

Your plan’s own credits still start again each month and don’t carry over.

How to buy

  1. Log in to the dashboard at app.welcomebird.com and open Billing.
  2. In Message credits, tap Buy beside a pack.
  3. A window asks, for example, Buy 100 message credits for RM15.00? Choose Card or FPX online banking.
  4. Tap Pay, for example Pay RM15.00. You go to Stripe’s secure payment page.
  5. Pay there. You come back to Billing.

You need a billing email first. Without one, the dashboard says Add a billing email first. See Buying a plan.

Back on Billing, the top shows the payment:

  • Waiting for the payment: your bank is confirming it. The page updates by itself.
  • 100 credits added. Receipt WB-R-000123 is in your email.: your credits are ready to use.
  • Payment cancelled. Nothing was charged.: you left the payment page. Tap Try again to buy the same pack.
  • The payment didn’t go through. You weren’t charged.: tap Try again.

If you buy packs often, the card may say, for example, Buying often? Pro gives 500 credits a month for RM49.

Receipts

Every top-up gets a receipt by email with the PDF attached, as for a plan. The receipt line names the pack, for example WelcomeBird 100 message credits, with no dates.

In Invoices and receipts on Billing, a top-up shows its pack, for example 100 message credits. See Receipts.

Low-balance messages

When your plan and top-up credits together run low, the Message credits card says, for example, You have 8 message credits left.

The owner also gets an email and a push:

  • Now using your top-up credits: your plan’s credits for the month are used up, and messages now use your top-up credits.
  • 8 top-up credits left, with your balance at the time: your top-up credits are running low. When credits run out, customers who gave an email get their messages by email.
  • Top-up credits used up: until next month, customers who gave an email get their messages by email.

Each comes once, and again only after your next top-up. You can turn the pushes off in More → Notifications, under Your plan. The emails always come.

In the app

You can’t buy top-ups in the app itself. On Android and iPhone, Plan & usage shows your top-up balance as Extra credits and, when your credits run low, a note that says how many are left. The owner tops up on the dashboard, on the Billing page.
