Who can do this: Owner, Admin

A party at or above Parties that need your OK (in Table rules) can’t book straight away online. It sends a request, and the table is held while you decide. The request shows on Today under Needs your answer, as “Table for 9”, with the day and time.

Accept a request

Open the request and tap Confirm, or tap Accept on Today. The Accept request sheet opens.

1. Table shows the table held for the party, for example “Held: T8 (6-10 seats)”. To seat them somewhere else, tap Change table and pick another table. The list shows every table free for the whole booking, whatever its seats.
2. Under Also hold, tick the other tables the party needs, for example T5 and T6 pushed together. Up to and a number say how many you can hold. Held tables are blocked for the whole booking and are free again if the booking is cancelled.
3. Tap Accept. The customer gets a message.

Everything is sent together: the table change, the held tables and the confirmation. If one part can’t be done, nothing changes.

If someone books a table you ticked while the sheet is open, the sheet says so, for example “T6 was just taken”, and shows that table greyed out. Nothing has changed yet: pick another table or tap Accept without it.

If the table you picked under Change table is booked while you choose, the field says “T5 is no longer free. Choose a table.” Pick a table again before you tap Accept.

To say no, open More on the booking and tap Decline, as for any request. See Requests.

Change the tables a booking holds

A confirmed table booking shows Also held and the tables it holds, for example “Also held: T5, T6”. Tap Change beside it, tick or untick tables, and tap Save. The customer isn’t messaged: held tables are your own floor plan.

Cancel a large party

Cancel it as any booking, with the reason sheet. When it holds more tables, the sheet names them, for example “Cancel Nurul Ain’s Table for 9? T5 and T6 will be free again.” See Cancel.

Change how many people come

Tap Change beside Party on a table booking. Pick the new number, or use More people for more than 8, and tap Save. The time, the length and the table stay the same. “Messages not yet sent will say Table for 6.” means the reminders still to go out use the new number.

If the table can’t seat the bigger party, the sheet says so, for example “T3 seats at most 4. Move the booking to a bigger table?”.

• Tap Move to open Reschedule and pick a bigger table under Table. The tables that seat the new number come first, each with its seats. The move keeps the old number, so once the booking is moved, Change party opens again with your new number picked: tap Save. A move to another table at the same time sends the customer nothing.
• Tap Keep 4 people to leave the party as it was.

While the customer has asked to move the booking and you haven’t answered yet, the party can’t change. The sheet says “The customer has asked to move this booking. Approve or decline their request first, then change the party.” See Requests to answer it.

Staff don’t see Change on a table booking.
