Table rules

Table rules

Who can do this: Owner, Admin

Table rules apply to every table at your business. Open More → Tables → Table rules. Change what you need, then tap Save. Save works once you have changed something, and nothing changes until you save. If you leave with unsaved changes, the app asks first.

The rules start with your first table. Before then, the page asks you to add a table.

How long a table is kept

Each rule says how long a table is kept for a party of that size, for example:

  • 1-2 people · 1 hr 30 min
  • 3-4 people · 2 hr
  • 5+ people · 2 hr 30 min

The rule for the party’s size applies. Customers don’t choose a length.

  • Tap a rule to change it. Pick Party of at least (the smallest party the rule covers) and Table kept for, then tap Done.
  • Tap Add rule to add one after the last. It hides when you have the most rules allowed, or when the last rule already starts at your largest party online.
  • Tap … next to a rule, then Remove rule. The app asks first, naming the rule; tap Remove to take it away, or Keep. The rule above it then covers its sizes. The first rule always starts at 1 person, so it has no ….

Each rule must start at more people than the one before. If they don’t, the page says so and nothing is saved.

Below Parties that need your OK, a party smaller than a table’s fewest people is never given that table online.

Seating

Clean-up time is kept free after each sitting before the next party sits.

Largest party online is the biggest party customers can book online. Bigger parties are asked to contact you.

Parties that need your OK: a party this big or bigger sends you a request. You accept or decline it, and the table is held while you decide.

Start times shows how far apart the start times are, for example Every 15 min. You set it in More → Business profile → Booking rules.

Online, a party gets the free table with the fewest spare seats.

If someone else changed the rules

If the rules were changed on another device while you were editing, the app says so and shows them as they are now. Check them and save again.
