Counter PIN
Who can do this: Owner, Admin, Staff
A counter PIN is a 4-digit number each person types on a counter device at your front desk. Staff type it to confirm a visit. Owners and admins also type theirs to leave counter mode or to start a paused counter again. The PIN is never shown, not even to the owner.
Set your own PIN
- Open More, tap your name to open Account.
- Tap Counter PIN. It says Set or Not set.
- Type 4 digits and tap Save PIN.
Easy PINs such as 1234 or 0000 are refused with Choose a PIN that’s harder to guess. Pick another one.
Set or reset someone’s PIN
Owners and admins open More → Team, tap the person and tap Counter PIN. It shows the PIN’s state:
- Set: the person has a PIN.
- Not set: they don’t have one yet. A person without a login gets their PIN this way.
- Locked: too many wrong tries. It works again by itself after 15 minutes.
- Disabled: 15 wrong tries in a day. It works again once you set a new PIN.
Type 4 digits and tap Save PIN. Tell the person their new PIN yourself.
More → Loyalty → Counter devices shows how many PINs are set and locked under Staff PINs.
Wrong PINs
- After a wrong PIN, the counter says That PIN isn’t right. With 2 or fewer tries left, it says how many.
- After 5 wrong tries, the PIN is locked for 15 minutes.
- After 15 wrong tries in a day, the PIN is disabled until an owner or admin sets it again.
